Penn Cove Gallery's Rainy Lindell will be one of the artists showing her work in this weekend's Whidbey Allied Artists show. The show runs July 15 - 17 at the Coupeville Rec Hall. Hours are 10 - 6 Friday and Saturday/10 - 5 Sunday.
Three Penn Cove Gallery artists will be showing their work in the Island Artists show this weekend. Stop by the Coupeville Rec Hall to see our very own Janis Collins (colored pencil), Phyllis Drummond (watercolor) and Rainy Lindell (oils).
Plus, the gallery is just around the corner so you can come by to see us on the same trip! Jewelry artist and metalsmith Mary Ellen O'Conner will have a booth in the Edmonds Arts Festival this weekend. Mary Ellen's life as an artist has always been intertwined with her love of nature and wildlife. Over the years, she has developed several techniques that allow her to combine metal, nature and color in her stunning work available year-round in Penn Cove Gallery and this weekend off island just down the road in Edmonds.
Janet believes that an artist should paint and draw what he or she loves, be passionate, be creative, and have fun. She says, "The subjects I choose to draw are mostly things I love from the natural world. Whidbey Island is the perfect place for inspiration with the water views, beaches, forests, birds, shells, plants and wildlife all around us."
You've come to know artist Deborah Francis for her polymer clay sculptures, but now you will get to enjoy her beautiful jewelry. Deborah is bringing her polymer clay and mixed metals jewelry to Penn Cove Gallery beginning May 25. We couldn't be happier to add her unique pieces to our beautiful range of jewelry offered at the gallery.
According to Deborah: "Polymer clay opened up a world of color and texture in creating my jewelry and sculpture. My background in ceramics made trying this material a natural progression. It’s versatility, provides endless possibilities to explore. The desire to expand my jewelry vocabulary in the last five years led to working with metals and using cold connections to combine polymer and metal together. I love assembling segments in interesting combinations and experiment with many different configurations until the composition resonates with me as I hope it will with you." |
