The work of Penn Cove Gallery's colored pencil artist, Janis Collins, is being featured during May and June at Christopher's Restaurant in Coupeville.

Janis believes an artist should paint and draw what you love, be passionate, be creative, and have fun.  The subjects she chooses to draw are mostly things she loves from the natural world.  Indeed, subjects  such as Whidbey Island's  water views, beaches, forests, birds, shells, plants and wildlife all provide inspiration for Janis' work.

We hope you'll enjoy Janis' work in Christopher's (one of four off-site exhibit locations in Coupeville that exclusively show Penn Cove Gallery artists' work) and stop in the gallery to shop a full-range of her originals and prints.

The historic Blue Goose Inn Bed & Breakfast is one of four off-site exhibit locations in Coupeville which features work exclusively by Penn Cove Gallery artists. Pieces by artists M. Denis Hill (photography), Michele Kempees (watercolor), and Mark Lucero (acrylics) are currently featured at the inn.

Denis specializes in capturing the landscapes and structures in Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve and the Pacific Northwest coast.

Completely self-taught, Michele has exhibited her work in numerous shows, galleries, competitions,
businesses, and has taught several classes. Although she has used various media such as pencil, ink, and acrylics, Michele has settled on watercolor as her favorite.

Mark's compositions range from realism to fully abstract with the majority of his paintings being semi-abstract with a deeper message he wants to convey to the viewer.

Pieces at the inn may be purchased through Penn Cove Gallery.

Works by Diane Tompkinson at Knead & Feed Through April

3/9/2017

Work by print artist Diane Tompkinson will be showing at Knead & Feed Bakery Restaurant during March and April.  Knead & Feed is one of four off-site exhibit locations in Coupeville which feature work exclusively by Penn Cove Gallery artists.

Diane studied art at the University of Oregon, working in oils, acrylics, printmaking, and for the last fifteen years, woodcarving. Growing up on the wooded bluffs of Puget Sound, she spent a lot of time in the woods and at the beach. Consequently, frequent topics of her work are birds of the forest and shore, as well as saltwater creatures.  Sailing across the Pacific brought Diane many special experiences. Retired from teaching, she has made a lifelong study of birds, particularly owls and other raptors and their natural enemies, the highly intelligent crow family.
