Penn Cove Gallery is pleased to announce that photographer Marianne Borozny has joined us as the 26th Whidbey Island artist in the gallery.

Marianne says: "I have tried to approach the world with my eyes wide open during 28 years behind the camera, creating works mainly in the Southwest, Northwest, Pacific Coast, and New England. My greatest muse is my current home, Whidbey Island."

According to Marianne, her interests lie in capturing natural light, crystallizing simple forms, and isolating textures and patterns. "I always seek the essence of a scene or an object. My 10 years as an art jeweler informs the sometimes sculptural sense of my photographs. Even if they do not fit into the schema of my work, every now and then I find whimsical moments that I must photograph, such as hunted cows, miniature Grand Canyon snowmen, and ornamented VW Beetles."

Marianne's work goes up in the gallery today. Be sure to stop in and enjoy this wonderful addition to Penn Cove Gallery.  Welcome Marianne!

Entitled, Penn Cove Gallery is a Gem in Historic Downtown Coupeville, the article perfectly described what we humbly think - and visitors agree - is so special about our little Coupeville gallery. Thanks to Carolyn and whidbeylocal.com for a lovely piece. You can view the article here.
