Penn Cove Gallery is thrilled to introduce Janis Collins as our newest artist member.  Janis brings the medium of colored pencils to the gallery in her locally-inspired work.

Janis says:  "It is the drawing process that I really enjoy.  I started with portraits in pencil and charcoal, then wanted to get some color into my work.  Colored pencils were the perfect solution. Currently that is my medium of choice."
Janet believes that an artist should paint and draw what he or she loves, be passionate, be creative, and have fun.  She says, "The subjects I choose to draw are mostly things I love from the natural world. Whidbey Island is the perfect place for inspiration with the water views, beaches, forests, birds, shells, plants and wildlife all around us."
