Janis brings the medium of colored pencils to the gallery in her locally-inspired work. Janis says: "It is the drawing process that I really enjoy. I started with portraits in pencil and charcoal, then wanted to get some color into my work. Colored pencils were the perfect solution. Currently that is my medium of choice." |
Janet believes that an artist should paint and draw what he or she loves, be passionate, be creative, and have fun. She says, "The subjects I choose to draw are mostly things I love from the natural world. Whidbey Island is the perfect place for inspiration with the water views, beaches, forests, birds, shells, plants and wildlife all around us."
