Penn Cove Gallery Artist Rescues Homeless Wood

2/5/2016

PicturePhoto source: "Jim Short - Woodturner" Facebook page.
Penn Cove Gallery woodturner Jim Short says he "rescues homeless wood".  His exquisite turnings come from local trees headed for the landfill or a stove, and he especially loves to highlight the wood's imperfections.

On the right, a fresh batch of madrone goes from truck to a beautifully turned bowl in Jim's studio.

Be sure to stop in the gallery to see a full range of Jim's pieces in a variety of woods. And if you're on Facebook, you'll enjoy seeing Jim's posts highlighting his artistic process on his Jim Short - Woodturner page.
