February's Featured Artist is painter Michele Kempees. Completely self-taught, Michele started her artist journey while still in high school. Although Michele uses various art media such as pencil, ink and acrylics, she has settled on watercolor as her favorite. She loves the rich colors and contrasts she can achieve in this medium.

Michele finds her art inspiration everywhere, but her favorite subject is people. She says, "People are exciting to paint, and children always liven up a watercolor."

Michele exhibits in numerous shows, galleries, businesses, competitions and also teaches watercolor classes.

Penn Cove Gallery features a great collection of Michele's cards, along with a number of original paintings and prints to choose from.
You are invited to the gallery on Saturday, February 6th, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, to watch Michele demonstrate her work using the watercolor medium.
