Photographer John Olsen is Penn Cove Gallery's Featured Artist for September. He works in all camera formats, but favors infrared and high-speed B&W films for interpretive images.

Before moving to the Pacific Northwest, John photographed widely in Asia, Europe and Mexico, as well as in his long-term home state of New Mexico. His current photographic work is nearly all black and white, printed in his own darkroom. John's new work - found in his “Nautical” and “Waterfall” collections - reflects the unique Pacific Northwest environment. His "Industrial Glamour" collection reflects his admiration for people who build things that are both functional and graceful.

John will be at Penn Cove Gallery on Sunday, September 18, from 10-5:00 pm with his cameras and available for lots of discussion about his work and methods.
