Penn Cove Gallery's June Artist of the Month is jewelry artist Beverly McQuary.  Bev literally "plays with fire" in her Italian bead-making process. Glass bead-making involves melting colorful glass rods around a mandrel with a propane/oxygen torch and then embellishing them with more glass in an exciting dance on an incredibly small palette.  Watch Bev demonstrate bead-making here.

Bev's glass beads are then incorporated into unique, one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces with silver or copper wire.  Want to talk bead-making with Bev?  Stop by the gallery on June 21, 10:00 - 5:30 and she'll happily answer your questions about her interesting bead-making process.
