Francy Blumhagen - mixed media/collage
For most of my life I have had the privilege of calling Whidbey Island my home. And also for most of those years I have had the gift of working full time as an artist. Whidbey Island provides the inspiration for my imagery: its plants, birds and animals and the land, sea and sky where they are found. The work itself—usually not entirely realistic or abstract—is done in mixed media/collage and a variety of printmaking methods. I love to experiment just to see what will happen. Art for me is the joy of discovery…and I hope for my viewers as well.
