Akemi Walker - Coupeville, Washington
Akemi, who first came to the US as an exchange student in 1967, is known throughout the Northwest for her unique jewelry which combines a Japanese manufactured ceramic clay (not found in the US) with watercolor. Each part of her jewelry is hand sculptured, sanded, painted, and finished with a special finishing liquid. All pieces are original designs with some incorporating kimono silk, yarn, leather, shells, and semi-precious stones.
